Technical Advisory Services

Our Technical Advisory Services Department service is executed by a specialized external stakeholder support department that provides technical expertise and advisory services to support the agricultural production and sustainability of the Nuts & Oil Crops subsector.

The primary objective of TAS is to provide agricultural advisory services to farmers, extension workers, and other stakeholders in the Nuts & Oil Crops subsector.

TAS plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable agricultural production and improving the livelihoods of the subsector farmers. Our objective is to develop scheduled nuts and oil crops namely; coconut, macadamia, cashew, sunflower, oil palm, simsim, peanuts, bambara nuts, canola, linseed, jojoba.

Services

  1. Build the capacity of County Governments and other value chain players on good agricultural practices in nuts and oil crops through farm demonstrations, field days, agricultural shows, farm visits;
  2. Develop, review and avail technical materials on production technologies (Hand books, booklets, pictorials, charts, brochures, etc.) for nuts and oil crops;
  3. Collect, collate data and maintain the database on the production of nuts and oil crops;
  4. Advise various research institutions on research priorities in nuts and oil crop production.
  5. Disseminate research findings and new production technologies
  6. Support value chain players to access high-quality farm inputs.
